According to the public relations reporter of foolad khuzestan, Seyed Vahid Seyedali, the CEO of the Khuzestan Mines Development Company, stated in a press conference held on the 11th of Dey, 1402, in Zanjan: “If we take a comprehensive look at the mining industry, we can see that comprehensive land development has not been implemented, and at least an executive framework has not been established. foolad khuzestan, with an annual production of nearly four million tons of steel, requires a continuous supply of raw materials.”

He continued, stating: “On the 8th of Azar, 1400, with the aim of supplying raw materials for the foolad khuzestan Group through discussions on ownership, exploration, and exploitation, the Khuzestan Mines Development Company was formed. In that year, there was no comprehensive document for ownership of mines in the country. foolad khuzestan, by inviting experts and designing an algorithm, established the basis for mine ownership. Today, the capital of this company is one trillion tomans.”

The CEO of the Khuzestan Mines Development Company announced the completion of iron ore reserves in the next 17 years and emphasized the necessity of moving towards mine ownership. He mentioned that foolad khuzestan, understanding the conditions and considering future production, is taking steps towards mine ownership, participation in exploration, and technical and specialized studies.

Regarding the company’s presence in the country’s iron belt, Seyedali added: “Up to now, 18 mines have been identified, of which two have been acquired. We plan to increase this number to 12 mines in the short term. Monitoring of mines is not limited to iron ore, and in the raw materials sector, the dolomite mine in Baghmalek county has also been acquired.”

Seyedali highlighted that mining is a long-term investment and explained the steps involved in obtaining mining licenses, from the initial identification of the area to obtaining exploration and exploitation permits. He also mentioned the company’s active participation in the Abadeh-Jazmourian region under the supervision of the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).

Discussing the Goozeldareh mine, he stated that within a nine-month period, they drilled nearly 700 meters. The ore grade of this mine is 44%, and the concentrate obtained has improved the quality of the final product. This mine played a crucial role in supplying the concentrate needed for the Zamzam III project.

Seyedali expressed the company’s commitment to continue exploring mines and importing industrial machinery required for this industry. He emphasized that foolad khuzestan is not only a mid-range steel producer but is also active in the entire steel value chain.

In response to a question about setbacks in exploration, he clarified that setbacks do not indicate a lack of knowledge but are due to limited access to technology in the country, particularly as a result of sanctions. He noted that artificial intelligence has entered the economic enterprises, including mines, as a means of optimizing human resources rather than reducing them.

At the end of the press conference, journalists and media activists visited the Goozeldareh mine in Zanjan for a field inspection.
