Comparison of the Number of Holidays in Iran with Other Countries

Common Perception: Many people believe that Iran ranks high in the number of holidays per year.

Reality: Upon closer examination, it becomes clear that this perception is incorrect.

Statistics:

Iran: Has a total of 76 holidays per year, which includes 24 official holidays and 52 weekends.
European and North American countries: On average, they have 124 holidays per year, which includes 20 official holidays and 104 weekends.
USA: Has a total of 124 holidays per year.
China: Has a total of 122 holidays per year.
Japan: Has a total of 127 holidays per year.
Germany: Has a total of 121 holidays per year.

Notable Points:

In Iran, unlike many other countries, the weekend consists of only one day (Friday).
In some countries, there are numerous national and religious holidays scattered throughout the year, which can complicate planning for work and travel.
In Iran, official holidays are fixed, whereas in some countries, the dates of holidays may change each year.

Conclusion:

Despite the large number of specific holidays in Iran, due to the one-day weekend, the total number of holidays in Iran is less than the global average. Comparing the number of holidays should consider various factors such as the length of the workweek, the distribution of holidays, and the stability of their dates.
